Cher: Would you call me shallow? Dion: No. Not to your face.

Shopping for clothes: Cher from Clueless:: Shopping for antibodies: Me.

How much of a nerd am I?

Abcam, Novus, Upstate (now owned by Millipore, who knew?) have made me want to go into biotech instead of academia.

Dolla, Dolla billz, y'all.

I don't know how anyone could go into academia. I once heard of it as living a life of genteel poverty, where you're a celebrity among the few circles who have heard of you.

Then again, you're in a technical field, so it's probably different.

You can make a decent living in science academia, but the competitiveness and pressure is pretty scary.

I just have nightmares about turning into Richard Burton's character in "Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf?"...a sniveling, cardigan-wearing, shell of a human ensconced in the pedantic hell of a "small college town".

Love.

Thanks for quoting the "Bible." We all need to be reminded of its precepts. I have to insist there will be no lunches with pornographers (you are for my eyes only)! And the next person you call "daddylicious" will suffer the WRATH OF CRAIGER!!!!!

Alexis-

I had a whole glass of Chardonnay (Ed's a big boy!) this evening and it just about did me in. I've become such a lightweight in my old age. I could start imbibing like you, but maybe I should just pour formaldehyde into my liver and be done with it. Love.

Craiger-

I'm glad that you fancy my Clueless quotes. I don't think ML will ever have lunch with me, but he did come to Stanford last year to speak. Maybe we could get him to come back? Oh, and the jealousy thing? Supah-hawt, keep it up, muscles. Love and kissy-kisses.
